It all begins with an idea. There has been a big push in the idea about healthier real foods. MAHA started a battle cry that every single person can relate to, processed foods are not good to eat. The problem is that so many of us were raised on these foods and rely on them as a comfort food or quick snack.
When I began studying to become a Nutritional Therapist Practitioner, there was one idea that I kept circling back to, today’s food is not the same food your parents or grandparents ate. Even if some of the brand names existed, how they are made and what ingredients are found in them would leave you with a puzzled look.
Our foods used to have so much more minerals and vitamins in them. So even if you have a balanced diet with organic foods, unless you are growing them, you might only be getting a fraction of the benefits that our grandparents ate. There is still hope and changes that our regulations are going through is all for the best.
